SPCA stands for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. This does not mean only dogs and cats, but all living creatures.
Our mission is to promote the FIVE FREEDOMS:
- Freedom from Hunger and Thirst
- Freedom from Discomfort
- Freedom from Pain, Injury and Disease
- Freedom to express Normal Behaviour

Prayer for the Animals, by Albert Schweitzer
Hear our humble prayer, O God, for our friends, the animals. Especially for animals who are suffering, for any that are hunted or lost or deserted or frightened or hungry: For all that must be put to death. We entreat for them all Thy mercy and pity, and for those who deal with them, we ask a heart of compassion, gentle hands and kind words. Make us, ourselves, to be true friends to animals, and so to share the blessings of the merciful.
Gebed vir Diere Hoor ons nederige gebed, O God, Vir ons vriende, die diere. Veral vir diere wat ly, way gejag word, Verlore, verlate, beangs of honger is, Asook almal wat om die lewe gebring moet word. Ons bid om U genade en deernis, Veral ook vir hulle wat met diere werk. Gee aan hulle harte met ontferming, sagte hande En mooi woorde. Maak U van ons almal opregte vriende van diere Om so in die liefde en genade van ons Skepper te deel.
